Rebecca BAXTER was born to Thomas and Rebecca Adams Baxter about 1682 in Westchester, New York Colony

John PALMER and Rebecca BAXTER were married on 31 Oct 1700 in Westchester, NY. [1][2] Children were:

  1. Joseph, probably died before 1748, as not in his father's will. Proprietor of Minneford's or City Island
  2. Marcus, probably died before 1771, as not in his mother's will
  3. Benjamin, succeeded his brother Joseph as proprietor of Minneford's
  4. Esther, probably died before 1771, as not in her mother's will
  5. Philip,
  6. Thomas, probably died before 1771, as not in his mother's will
  7. Martha, married Benjamin Merrell, inherited mother's property on Minefords Island for life, entailed to her daughter Mary Lewis, not in his mother's will. He removed to and died in Nova Scotia, to join his son Benjamin a United Empire loyalist.
  8. John. He and his daughters Rebecca, Esther and Rachel received legacies in his mother's will.
  9. Jeremiah, probably died before 1771, as not in his mother's will, not listed by Frances Baxter
  10. Israel, not listed by Norman Davis
  11. Phoebe, not listed by Norman Davis
  12. Rebecca died in Westchester in 1771, age about 89. In her will dated October 18, 1771, she calls herself a "widow . . . advanced in years." She leaves legacies to or otherwise mentions sons John, Philip, Benjamin and daughter Martha Merrell, plus John's daughters Rebecca, Esther, and Rachel, Martha's daughter Mary, grandson Joshua Pell, his daughter Sarah, and Anne daughter of Benjamin Palmer.[3]
