- 2. John Tuttle, b. in Eng., 1625; called cousin by Wid. of John Tuttle of Ipswich. In 1652 he was Constable for Rumney Marsh, and lived there. In 1655, Capt. Robert Keyne, Mr. Edward Hutchinson, John Tuthill, John Doolittle and Thomas Stockton to run the line between Lynn and Boston, and between Charlestown and Boston. "Perhaps removed to Lynn, maybe freeman there, 1691, possibly that Lieut. of Cavalry that was discharge, 1673." -Savage. He m. Feb. 10, 1647, Mary, dau. of Edward Holyoke* of Lynn; chil.:
- I. Mary Tuttle, b. April 18, 1653; d. Feb. 27, 1728. a. 75; m. Dec. 14, 1672, Caleb Carter of Charlestown. His will proved 1694.
- II. Sarah Tuttle, b. 1656; d. Feb. 1, 1719, a. 63; m. Joseph Newell of Charlestown. 1. Mary, d. May 2, 1683. 2. Joseph, bap. March 4, 1688, 3. John, June 20, 1689; d. soon. 4. John, Jan. 31 1692.
