About Reginald Dethick
Biography
https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Dethick-26
Reynold or Reginald Dethick was a son of Sir William Dethick (d. 1408/10).[1][2] Some pedigrees assert that he was the third son of Sir Geoffrey Dethick, but this appears to be an error.[3]
Siblings include
- 1. Robert Dethick of Dethick, Esq.
- 2. John Dethick of Newhall, Derbyshire. m. Margaret, dau. of Ralph Meynell
Marriage
Reginald's wife was Thomasine, dau. of Sir Ralph Meynell.[1][3] Collins (1812), refers to her as a sister of Joan, Lady Clinton,[4] but Meynell had a total of four d. & coh. Two of them -- Thomasin and her sister Margaret -- were married to sons of Sir William Dethick.[1] Elizabeth Meynell was the other, and married at least twice. Her second husband was Roger Bradshaw of Milwich, Staffs. (d. c. 1431).[1][5]
children
- (d. & h.) Margaret.[3][4] m. Ralph Basset of Blore, Staffs.[3][4]

Sir William Dethick of Dethick and Radbourne, Derbys & Mattersey, Notts. (d. 1408/10), was the s. & h. of John Dethick of Dethick & Mattersey (d. bef. 1373).[1]. It appears he did not marry until 40 or over. By his wife Alice,[1] [--Frankville--?],[2] he had at least 7 sons.[1]
"As the father of a large family, Dethick had to make careful provision for his children; and he was fortunate to secure two of the four daughters and coheirs of Sir Ralph Meynell as brides for his younger sons, John and Reynold."[1]
