Reinette Johanna Vorster (1972 – 2014)
Brief overview:
Reinette (42), a business woman originally from Pretoria, married to Leon, a prominent livestock farmer from Ghanzi, Botswana, was brutally murdered on the couples' Okwa Valley Farm, on 30th January 2014. She was attacked and strangled, and her body was then placed in her bakkie, which was rammed into a tree and set on fire.
Two farm workers, Mmika Michael Mpe (29) and Tshiamo Kgalalelo were convicted and sentenced to death.
"Kgalalelo died on death at Princess Marina Hospital (PMH) where he was hospitalised followed referral from the prison sickbay. The deceased had been on death row since 2017 and their sentence was confirmed early last year following a failed appeal."

- 18/05/2018: Mpe was convicted by the High Court of Botswana on 18th May 2018 on charges of murder, robbery with violence, theft of a motor vehicle, and malicious damage to property, and sentenced to death by hanging.
- 22/02/2022: "The Botswana Prison Service confirmed that they this morning executed Mmika Mpe who was sentenced to death for the murder of his employer Reinette Johanna Vorster of Gantsi. His co-convict Kgalalelo Tshiamo died while on death row last year."
