Reinhold “Ray” Mehrer, 79, of Miles City, Montana died Thursday, April 4, at the Holy Rosary Hospital of cancer.
Born February 27, 1912, in Yankton County, South Dakota, the son of Theodore and Margaret Weber Mehrer.
He attended schools in Mott, North Dakota. In 1942, he moved to Miles City, Montana where he drove cabs for many years. He and Lois Wilson were married in Miles City, Montana in 1945. Mr. Mehrer retired from driving cabs in 1989. Following his retirement he had a Miles City Star paper route for several years.
His survivors include two sons; Ray R. of Billings, Montana; and Rodney of Puyallup, Washington; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Survivors also include a brother, Sam of Miles City, Montana; and five sisters, Rose Dietz of Petaluma, California; Sarah Koethe of San Diega, California; Louise Leonhardt and Ester Jones, both of Oceanside, California; and Edena Mehrer of Garrison, North Dakota.
