Peter Palfrey married (1), by 1636, Edith _____. Among the Salem church members before 1636 was "Eedith Palfery" (annotated "dead")
They had six children: Lydia Pickman, Hannah Johnson, Jonathan, Jehoidan Smith, Remember Aspinwall, & Mary.
From Find a Grave contributor:
Second wife of Peter Aspinwall. They married on November 12, 1661 or 1662.
Peter Aspinwall was the first Aspinwall to arrive in the colonies in 1630, from Toxteth Park now a part of Liverpool, England. No date of birth for Peter Aspinwall is given but it is said that he was born in 1612. He became a freeman (a voter) in May or June 1645, and at which time he deposed that he was born in 1612. He lived in Dorchester, MA at the time. He married Alice Sharp on April 4, 1645. They remained childless for 16 years.
However, he married Remember Palfrey on February 12, 1661 or 1662, who became the mother of: Samuel (November 10, 1662); Peter (June 4, 1664); Nathaniel (June 5, 1666); Thomas (January 21, 1667); Mehitable (November 21, 1671); Eleazar and Joseph (twins born October 9, 1673; Job (baptized Feb. 27, 1675 but died young); Mary (August 4, 1677) and Timothy (b. April 19, 1682 but died young of smallpox).
Peter's date of death is sometimes recorded as Dec. 1, 1687. Other records are vague, but the will was entered on Dec. 9, 1687 and his will was settled for probate on January 20, 1691. It appears he did die early Dec. 1687, soon after writing his will.
He settled and lived, mostly, in Muddy River, MA. He was the town surveyor and constable. Muddy River became a part of Brookline, MA.
Her parents were Peter and Edith Palfrey. She has been credited with being an ancestor to the Winchester (gunmaking) family and to Franklin Delano Foosevelt.
