   Land transactions were found showing that Remington owned land in New York.
   Williams County, Ohio tax lists of 1846 show the names of Thomas, Washington, William, Remington and James as paying taxes. In 1847, Thomas, Washington, James, John and Orson are shown as being taxed. Washington and Remington show up as early as 1844 and David Whaley is taxed for cattle as early as 1841.
   Information in a letter to Keith Whaley from Bill Hess, a noted Whaley researcher from Chicago, who has since passed away: Remington was born in North Kingston, Rhode Island, moved to Petersburg, New York, then Marcellus, New York, then to Attica, New York where he died.
   Mary Stack provided a list of Whaleys buried in the Dale Pioneer Cemetery. The list includes:
