from familysearch.org from familysearch treeRene was born in 1689 in Acadie at the "Riviere-aux-Habitants" in the parish of Grand-Pre. He is married in 1707 to Marie Boudrot then at the age of 14 years old. In 1727, he is among the families to accept the oath of allegiance to the King of England, on the condition that it guarantees freedom of religion and neutrality in the event of conflict with the enemies of England. The authorities do not comply with the terms of the agreement and require a new oath without condition; Acadians refused. Things start to get worse for the Acadians. At that time, Rene and Marie have 10 children of which one is the name of Oliver, who is 7 years old. The Acadians refused and remain firm on the guarantee of the Treaty, of Utrecht and the decree of Queen Anne. Rene is 60 years old. On September 5, 1755, with other compatriots, the Hebert families are trapped in the Church where it is announced they will be deported in various English colonies. Due to the lace of places, Rene's family must wait until December 18 to board a ship by the name of Dove to be transported to Connecticut.
