About Rene (Irene) Salkinder
Remembered with great affection as a wonderful teacher at Emmarentia Primary School in the 1960s. Always immaculately attired and groomed, Rene was strict yet encouraging. She developed my lifelong interest in art and music, and most probably influenced my decision to enter the field of Education - which I am still active in, via Wits, 48 years later😀. Oh yes, Rene and Phyl Dennler, the two Senior Primary Teachers at EMP of those years, helped launch many of us into our High School years🙏🏻
