Clergyman and missionary. Born England. Son of Charles Baker (1774-1851), nurseyman, and Elizabeth Riley (died 1845). Emigrated to New Zealand Jun 1827. Married Hannah Maria Bailey, 13 children. CMS missionary in Northland, East Cape and Bay of Plenty.
