Great Grandson Moses Allen Conner wrote "The Stowaway" about Great Grandpa Daniel I Conner Sr. According to Moses, his Grandpa Daniel stowed away on a ship from Ireland to America. Daniel was caught and had to work to pay off his passage. Daniel changed his last name arriving in America. To finish paying off Daniel's Voyage, he worked as an indentured servant.

Served in Revolutionary War.

In the name of God Amen, I Daniel Conner of the County of Montgomery being of sound mind and memory and understanding, calling to mind the mortality of my body and that it is appointed unto all men once to die do therefore make, ordain this my last Will and testament in manner and form following...Item 4, I give and bequeath unto the Baptist Society the land enclosed within the fence around the meeting house entering the front square of the fence down to where the Bent Mountain road crosses the branch to them and their successors for ever...I Nominate, an point and make my two sons Jonathan and Andrew Conner my true and legal executors of this my last Will and testament. Daniel Conner, L.S."

Gravesite Details
Buried outside current cemetery near the original church. The field stones and broken/unreadable stones were removed in the late 1950's - early 1960's by a caretaker and church deacon who wanted mowing to be easier.
