Resident of Suffield, Connecticut. Father of Mary Gay, wife of composer Timothy Swan. Ebenezer Gay was the third minister of the First Congregational Church of Suffield. His family was related to the Swan family in multiple ways. Timothy Swan's brother, Benjamin Swan, was was married to Lucy Gay, Mary's sister. Several of Ebenezer's grandchildren were musicians like their father, Timothy Swan. He had ten grandchildren from Timothy and Mary Swan.
