The next image extracts that portion of the family tree, above, beginning with the first Earl of Cassillis through the seventh, and shows where McConnell, in the Fasti, and Dr. Kennedy-Bailie provide additional information. Note that McConnell (Fasti) states that the Revds. Thomas and Gilbert Kennedy were sons of Colonel Gilbert Kennedy, while Dr. Kennedy-Bailie concluded that they were the sons of Thomas who inherited Ardmillan in 1609.

From the Historical and Literary Memorials of Presbyterianism in Ireland publ. in 1879 by Thomas Witherow
I found the following tid bits of Interesting info.

Rev. Gilbert KENNEDY of Tullyish b. 1703 d. 1745 - Presbyterian minister. It is noted that his Father was also of the same name - Rev. Gilbert KENNEDY who was a younger son of Col. Gilberty KENNEDY of Ardmillan, Ayrshire, Scotland and a nephew of the 6th Earl of Cassilis a Scottish nobleman appointed to act as lay-assessors at the Westminster Assembly. Rev. Gilbert KENNEDY[Sr. added for clarity], had been Minister at Girvan in Scotland but fled during the religious persecutions for Ireland and became mimister of Dundonald about c1670. At that time Kennedy was a non-conformer and was harassed by Roger BOYLE.

It has been written that people carried their children from Lisburn and all the surrounding country to be baptized by him. He died on Feb. 6th, 1688 and was buried in the aisle of Dundonald Church where his name is inscribed on him tomb.

The son of Rev. Kennedy, Sr. of Dundonald, was ordained by the Presbytery of ARMAGH on the 23rd of March 1703 as Minister of Donacloney and TULLYLISH. (I have been told that a Presbyterian minister must be ordained in the county of his birth, so this says that Rev. Gilbert Kennedy, Jr. was born in Co. Armagh, Nor. Ireland which is Exactly where Rev. James MOODY's father John MOODY was living and possibly born as well...Tandragee, Co. Armagh).

Rev. Gilbert KENNEDY, Jr. married Elizabeth LANG (Laing) daughter of Rev. George LANG of Newry and she had 4 sons and 3 daughters. Their daughter Annabella KENNEDY married Rev. George CHERRY of Clare. Daughter "Fanny" (Frances) KENNEDY married the Rev. James MOODY of Magherally afterwards of Newry, and daughter Mary KENNEDY became the wife of the Rev. Thomas KENNEDY of Mourne whose eldest daughter married Rev. Samuel BARBER of Rathfriland.

Rev. Gilbert KENNEDY of Tullylish along with Rev. Mastertown in Belfast and Rev. Samuel HEMPHILL of Castleblayney were perhaps the most prominent men in the Orthodox majority of the Synod.... Rev. Kennedy died on July 8, 1745.

His sister (her name not given, but should be semi-easily found), married in 1720 the Rev. William TENNENT who started out as an Episcopal minister but who after emigrating to America (he went to PA), joined the Presbyterian Church and founded the Log College. He was partly responsible for the spread and strengthening of Presbyterianism on the other side of the Atlantic.
