Miller's Corners, N. Y. - Died, at his residence near Miller's Corners, of heart disease, Rev. J. B. Armitage, aged 63 years. His funeral was attended at the M. E. church, of which he was a member. Rev. Mr. Armstrong, of East Bloomfield, preached the funeral sermon. His loss will be deeply felt by his family and friends. He leaves a widow and ten children to mourn his loss.

on 1870 census listed with his wife Mary P. (36), the following children:
Fanny (13), Goodwin (9), Stella (7), Clark (5), Jessie (4) & Flora B. (2), and Martha G. Reynolds, his sister-in-law, listed at age 30 as a teacher.

John B. was one of sons. He preached for several years in the Methodist church. His last assignment was Ionia, NY, 1867-1868. (called millers corners at the time) John B. met his wife Mary P. Reynolds at the Methodist school in Lima, Livingston Co. NY. John went to the seminary in Lima, NY They lived in Ionia, NY on their farm following John's retirement form the ministry. The house is on county road 14, passt the postoffice, the third house after Cox Rd. on the right (count the corner house) was the Armitage place. John appears in the 1867 and 1874 Millers Corner directories but not in the 1859 directory.
