About Rev. John William Hudson
Rev. John William with his family from Virginia to Tennessee where he met Dr. William Cogswell Hazen and the two families moved to Arkansas, settling on an adjoining farm. The Hudson family as well as John William Hudson, moved to Bellefonte, Jackson County, Alabama before he migrated to Hazen, Prairie County, Arkansas and joined the Hazen family. The first Methodist church, started by Rev. Hudson, had about twenty members. It was built at Pleasant Point, east of present-day Hazen, for seventy-five dollars. Rev. John William Hudson was born on October 19, 1818 in Prince Edward County, Virginia, USA. His parents were Caleb Baker Hudson, Major and Martha C. Hudson.
John married Sarah S. Netherland on January 1, 1840 in Bellefonte Jackson, Alabama, USA. No Issue.
John married Ann Branch Hudson on September 28, 1841 in Tipton, Tennessee, USA. Together they had the following children:
John married Eliza A. Hudson on April 11, 1849 in Saint Tammany, Saint Tammany Parish, Louisiana, USA. Together they had the following children:
He died on October 30, 1868 in Hazen, Prairie County, AR.
