The COLLINS family were originally French Huguenots, drifting from France to Scotland, then to Ireland, from there they emigrated to this country in 1640, locating in York County, PA. I am not sure if the place of birth is accurate, or if they are descendants from the emigrants that came in 1640. I think Cornelius was in York County, PA first, then relocating to Lancaster Co., Pa. in 1756 after purchasing a farm. Was a brother to William. May have other siblings, and not sure yet of parents. (I know some of the descendants of this branch of Collins's wound up in Wilkinsburg, PA.)
