<p>Old home place was a frame house on Curry Road west of Dyer, Dyer Co, TN.</p><p> </p><p>Burial: Wilkes Cemetery, near Rutherford, Gibson Co, TN and very near Old Bethlehem Church.</p><p> </p><p> Rev. David joined the missionary Hopewell Baptist Church in Henderson County, TN during a revival meeting in July 1825. He began preaching in 1834 and was ordained 8-11-1835 in Hopewell Church.</p><p> He moved to Gibson County, TN in Dec of 1835. Where he was instrumental in organizing 15 churches.</p><p> </p><p> He pastored Old Bethleham Baptist Church near Rutherford, TN for 38 years. He rode circuit on a mule preaching and establishing churches. He started and organized Reelfoot Church in 1845, China Groove Church in 1851, New Bethleham Church in 1851 and Rutherford Church in 1869. </p><p> He also aided in the organizing of Salem Church, Bethpage Church, Macedonia Church and Walnut Groove Church. He also aided in organizing and serving in First Baptist Church of Rutherford; Antioch near Humbolt; Eldad and Springfield near Trenton; China Grove and Walnut Grove near Rutherford; and New Salem. He also</p><p>established the Buelah Baptist Church in Henry County; New Home near Martin in Weakly County; Trimble Station in Dyer County; and David's Chapel near Hickman, KY.
