1835, Sep 4-20 -- Petition to Legitimate, Nov 1835-Dec 1835 General Assembly Session Records The petition of Jesse Sanders of the County of Moore humbly showeth that he is the father of two children which children were born out of wedlock, that he has no children born within wedlock, that he is an aged man and has no wife living. He therefore prays that said children be legitimated and their names altered from that of Hardy Lewis and Brittain Lewis to that of Hardy Sanders and Brittain L. Sanders. Jesse Sanders.
