About Reverend John Higginson

Will John Higginson of Clebrooke 1624 (Leicester). He matriculated at Trinity Cambrige in 1561 and was awarded a BA in 1565 and an MA in 1568. Ordained a priest in 1572, he was vicar of Claybrooke, Leicestershire from 1571-1624. He married (1) Blanche (d 1577 Claybrooke) and three children (John (1574), Dorothy (1575) and Thomas (bur 1577). He married (2) Elizabeth (bur/ 1613) and had nine children: Priscilla (1578), John (bap 1580 bur 1585), Francis (1586), Nathaniel (c 1587), William (1589), Cathren (1591), Mary & Martha (1592) and Nicholas (1594).
