The Reverend Mr. Alexander Bruce of Garlet, here treated, is the third second son of Robert Bruce of Kennet.Fasti of the Church of Scotland I: 277 His mother is Agnes or Annas Murray. He was born before 13 June 1637, the date upon which his baptism was registered at Ckackmannan in Clackmannanshire, in Scotland. 11 June 1668: Extract Disposition by Robert Bruce of Kennets, to Alexander Bruce, his second lawful son, whom failing, to David Bruce of Shanbody, his eldest son and heir; of the lands of Garlett, with the teinds thereof, 3 acres of Carse land adjacent thereto, with the pasturage of four soumes, in Shanbody, under the reservation of his own liferent of said lands.
