GEORGE CLELAND, born about 1583, son of John C., burgess of Edinburgh ; M.A. (Edinburgh, 29th July 1003); min. in 1608 ; member of Assembly in 1638 ; died before 15th Jan. 1657. He marr. (1) Christian, daugh. of James Hunter of Ballagan : (2) 10th July 1627, Barbara (died shortly before 15th (Oct. 1665), daugh. of .lohn Logan, burgess of Edinburgh, and widow of William Livingston, min. of Sanquhar, and had issue — Robert ; John, min, of Stow ; George, min. of this parish in 1674 ; Jean, buried 1st Oct. 1664 ; Elizabeth.
