About Rfn. Thomas Davis Mockford
Thomas Davis Mockford was born in Dunedin, New Zealand, on 29 January 1896. He was the son of Thomas Davis Chapman Mockford and Bridget Mockford (nee Donohue) who had married in Dunedin on 22 March 1879. During World War I, Thomas served with the New Zealand Rifle Brigade, 3rd Battalion. He was killed in action at Ypres on 30 September 1917 and is remembered on the Buttes New British Cemetery New Zealand Memorial.
