Rhodine van der Walt (1968 - 2014)

Brief overview:

Rhodine (46), was found shot dead in her bed, at Kavalier Street, Van Riebeeck Park, on 4th February 2014. The back door of the house had been broken into and the security gate to the bedroom area was broken open. She sustained gunshot wounds to her torso.

Her husband Chris (49) had been visiting with his daughter, Shivorne (26), in Farramere, Benoni. When Chris arrived home he saw the back door had been broken into. “I walked down the hallway and saw the clothes pulled from the closets and scattered all over. I took her hand, it was ice-cold." The police and emergency services arrived 25 minutes later.

The killers took Chris's laptop, some jewellery, and the video-recorder for the security cameras. The killers also tried to break open the safe.

Rhodine had worked for Bayer pharmaceutical company for 11 years.
