Richard Monroe Cox was born in Texas to Caleb C. Cox and Elizabeth Krieger Cox.
This was my dad's grandfather. He went by Monroe. My dad said everyone called him Uncle Mun. He and his wife, Cora, had six sons: James Melvin Cox, Oscar Leon Cox, Charlie A. Cox, Earnest A. Cox, Elmer F. Cox, and Jessie Ray Cox. The oldest of those sons was my grandfather, Melvin Cox. In the picture to ther right, my grandfather is standing in the middle between Monroe and Cora. Oscar is in Monroe's lap and Charlie is in Cora's lap.
He passed away in Clovis, New Mexico.
