An on-line ged file lists the following note:
1 NOTE Now, this is what I have on Richard Denney. He
was born 1745and died 1825. Presbyterian church records of Rumbout &
Poughkeepsie have a marriage entry for a Richard Denney and Lena
Searl. It also states that the page is torn and the name of the bride
is not clear. So I am asuming that Richard married Lena in 1770, had
one son Thomas (my line) in 1771 and died shortly after or during his
birth. Then Richard married Asenath Booth, but I have found no record
of that. I have two more children besides Thomas; Mary, born 1778 and
Jacob, born 1779. But not after looking at the two names Lena and
Asenath and thinking about the fancy early handwriting, I am
beginning to wonder if indeed Richard had two wives. It is
interesting that I haven't found any marriage record for Richard and
Asenath. Another researcher who lives in Australia says there is
another son of Richard named John, born 1775. He married Esther
Corbett. Again, nothing to go on other than the names of his children
fit into the picture. 1
