Richard Fields was born in the Cherokee Nation (East) about [before]1836. He was the son of Ezekiel Fields, a Cherokee, and his wife Mary Ann Sexton, a white woman. The family was Removed to Indian Territory and settled in the Delaware District, Cherokee Nation. Richard married Elizabeth Blagg, a white woman, about 1849. They were the parents of six children, Ezekiel, John, [1] Charlotte, Eliza, Emma, and Timothy. He passed away in 1863. [2]
