  • 1. MRS. ELIZABETH GOODALE, came from Yarmouth, Eng., in the "Mary Ann," in 1637; d. in Newbury, April 8, 1647 [Nb]. She was wid. of John Goodale of Yarlmouth, whose will was dated 1625. Children:
    • 2 I ANN, b. ab. 1600; m. Thomas Millerd [or Milward], of Newbury, Gloucester, and Boston. He d. in B., Sept. 1, 1653, aged 53 [See C Nb. and Sv.]
    • 3 II SUSANNA, b. ___; m. Abraham Toppan of Nb. She d. March 20, 1689. G. R. 1880, p. 48, states that her name was Taylor, dau. of Mrs. Goodale by a former husband.
    • 4 III JOANNA, b. ___; m. 1st, John Oliver; 2d, April 17, 1645, Capt. Wm. Gerrish of Newbury. She d. June 14, 1677, and her husband rem. to Boston in 1678. He was liv. there in 1684; d. in Salem.
    • 5 IV ELIZABETH, b. ___; m. ab. 1641, JOHN LOWLE [or LOWELL]. She d. April 23, 1651 [Nb]. In her will she ment. her "sister Tappaine," and made her "brethren," Thomas Millerd, Richard Lowle, Abraham Tappine, and Wm. Gerrish, "overseers."

  • RICHARD GOODALE, of Newbury, 1638, was from Yarmouth Co., Norfolk; removed to Salisbury, among first settlers, 1639 or 1640; had wife Dorothy, who died 1655; children, Ann, who married William Allen; and Richard, of Boston; he died 1666.
