Biography

Richard was possibly the son of Richard Henderson of Hanover Co. VA, or a son of James (jr) Henderson of New Kent Co. Richard's wife, Henrietta, is commonly believed to have been a Henley from Henrico, but as yet no source has proved this. His Will proved his five children and one brother, Edward. Entries in the parish's Vestry book indicate that from the time of his Will in 1745 until his death he was ill and unable to work. Aside from the information in his Will and grant of land in Goochland he was living on, all else for this Richard is speculation.
