Biography
Richard Moore came to Maryland in 1652 with his wife Jane and his children. They lived on the Patuxent River, as is shown by the following power of attorney granted him by George Ketchmey, of Virginia: "Know all men by these presents, that I, George Ketchmey, of Virginia, doe Ordaine and make my Loving friend Richard Moore, of Patuxent, my true and Lawfull Attorney, foe me and my name, etc..."

Notes
Early Settlers places his birth in England in 1622. [2] For his daughter Temperence to be married at the time of their immigration in 1652, however, Richard needs to be born earlier. Estimating his age as 21 at the time of his marriage, and estimating his marriage to be in 1634, his birth is most likely in 1613.

The following concerning Jane, the wife of Richard moore and mother ofRuth Beall, is interesting:
"Know all men by these presents that Whereas my Husband, Richard Moore,being Sick and weake upon his death bed did Call to his wife Jane Moore,and desired her to bring him the will which he had formerly made and hepused it and after that he Cancelled it and caused it to be burnt andmade his wife whole and Sole Executor to Sett and dispose of amongst herchildren, as She will, Richard Manship and Eliz. Manship, his wife, beingpresent at the Same Time." "Know all men by these presents that I, JaneMoore, the wife of Richard Moore deceased, doe bind over the four hundredAcres of land which we now live upon to be Equally Divided betwixt mythree sons, viz.: Richard M., Roger M., and Timothy M., and they to be ofage when they come to Eighteen, and the Maids at fifteen, and fourteenhead of female Cattell for Seven Children for their use with all theIncrease, the Males being taken out of them and as the Come to age ormarry their shares to be taken out proportionately, and if any of theseChildren should Dye the Cattell to goe aomngst the rest, and for the LandShe is to Enjoy ir, So Long as She, the Said Jane, doth Live and then toCome to the Children."
