PAINE, Richard, Mr., Great Isl., test. 23 Jan 1678 to what he heard Abisha Taprill say; also a wit. in the Grove case in 1683, ±37 and signed a Sheepscot pet. in 1684 as mastmaker and purser for His Majesty's use in England. A Kit. wit. Nov. 1686, proved bef. Hinckes in June 1687. Of Newichawannock, shipwright, he was bondsm. for Sarah (Taylor) (Channey) Wingate in Nov 1687-8 and m. her bef. July 1693, when, of Boston, he gave her p/a. Both of Boston 26 May 1705, where she d. 23 Dec. 1707 and he at Mr. Kenney's ho. 18 Apr. 1708, ag. 72. His will, very aged, 19 Mar. - 24 Apr. 1708, gives his Boston ho. to cous. Thos. Pain of Rotherlithe, co. Surrey, or, if he die, to s.-in-law Samuel Kenney; ano. Boston ho. to S. K. and w. Abigail, and a third to Paine Wingate. [ref 22]
