Richard Parsons. Esq, the eldest Son, was Member in the Parliament of 1639 for the Town of Wicklow; and married to his first Wife Lettice, eldest Daughter to Sir Adam Loftus, of Rathfarnham,, Vice-Treasurer of the Exchequer, (by Jane, . Daughter to Walter Vaughan of Golden Grove, Esq., and by her, who died 26th October 1633,and was buried the 29th in St. Patrick’s, and had issue:

  • William, succeeded to his Grandfather, married Catherine Jones; and two Daughters,
  • (i) Jane, married in 1657 to John Franks, Esq; and dying 3d October 1659, was buried by her Mother.
  • (2) Elisabeth, to Sir Thomas Warsop, of Dunfhaghlin in the County of Meath, Knt. by whom (he had a numerous issue (f)

Richard Parsons married to his second Wife, 29th Auguft 1637, Catharine, Daughter and Heir to Sir Beverley Newcomen, Bart, (who was drowned near Passage, in the County of Waterford 28th April 1637 ; by his wife Margaret, daughter to Sir William Ufsher, Knt.) and by her, who re-married with Sir Hubert Adrian Verveere, he had an only Daughter:

  • Catharine, who was married to Richard Morris, of Ballyfermont near Dublin, Esq., died without issue, in December 1694, and was buried at St. Audoen*s.

Richard Parsons, Son of William Parsons and Elizabeth (Lany) Parsons, was born about 1602. Richard was M.P. in 1639 for the town of Wicklow. [1][2] Richard married Lettice Loftus, eldest dau of Sir Adam Loftus of Rathfarnham & his wife Jane Vaughan.

Children:

  1. William married Catherine Jones, dau of Arthur Jones, 2nd Viscount Ranelagh.
  2. Jane married in 1657 to John Franks, Esq
  3. Elizabeth married Sir Thomas Worsop of Dunshaghlin, co Meath

Richard's father does not appear to be Laurence Parsons, but Laurence's brother William. See document in Media.

Richard Parsons was born on 1602 in Birr Castle, County Offaly, Leinster Province, Ireland to Sir Lawrence Parsons and Jane Malhm Parsons. Richard married Anne Letitia Loftus and had a child: Elizabeth Parsons. He passed away in County Fermanaugh, Ulster Province, Ireland.
