Biography

Richard was born about 1672. He is the son of John Pinkham and Martha Otis. [1] Another source affirms his parentage, and reports his birth year as about 1675, in Dover, New Hampshire. He married first Elizabeth Leighton, born about 1673, daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth (Nutter) Leighton. He married second in Kittery, Maine, November 27, 1757, Mary (Hill) Welch, the widow of Benjamin Welch.[2]

Tristram Pinkham, born abt 1700. Hollick reports his birth as about 1710.[2]Married Martha Abigail Hayes, daughter of Samuel Hayes and Leah Dam, on 12 Aug 1738. Martha was born on 16 Aug 1721 in Dover, N.H.. She died before 1762.

Eliza-beth Leighton, daughter of the second Thomas Leighton, a noble choice. On May 2, 1699, Richard Pinkham conveyed the High Street premises to Thomas Tibbetts. On May 12, 1709, he conveyed to his nephew [should be brother], Amos Pinkham, land which formerly belonged to the first Thomas Leighton. Feb. 22, 1736-37, he conveyed land to his son, Tristram; also on Feb. 11, 1748-49. On Dec. 2, 1730-31, he conveyed to his son, Richard, Lot No. 70 [6]

I (Pinkham-363) do not believe this is Elizabeth Leighton, because it does not fit with other information in Sinnett. This creates a problem of double entries for all their offspring which will have to be resolved with more solid evidence.
