About Richard (Rick) Gary Simon

I started my Geni family tree November 18, 2008 and purchased the Geni PRO almost immediately.

I work on GENI every day and try and add ANYONE, anywhere that is connected to someone who is connected to me, etc.

Profiles of deceased persons added by me are ALWAYS public, regardless of the age of the decedent, and regardless of how recent the death, as long as there is a public domain online obituary or, if not online, credible information of the recent death has been conveyed to me. In fact, I strongly urge every person with whom I come into contact with on GENI to aggressively address this issue of deceased AND private profiles. In addition, I urge everyone - when possible - to post the deceased's obituary in the "About" tab .....

Profiles of living persons added by me are "generally" private. However, as mentioned I add someone onto the tree whenever I have ANY information about that person - in ANY manner.

I will be glad to collaborate with anyone interested in amplifying and/or correcting profiles added and/or managed by me.

I am also happy to assist ANYONE with their part of the tree and/or matches - one only needs to ask,

Today I passed a MAJOR PERSONAL milestone. I am NOW connected to over 100,000 profiles (actually 100,021 profiles AND continuing to grow). I know this because I use those I "follow" as my measure of connections. IF I am connected to a profile I follow that profile AND I do not follow profiles that I am NOT connected to. Why is this important to me - it is because this is one way I have of measuring both my efforts AND my successes in getting others that I know or become acquainted with to participate in GENI.com. So I work "my family FOREST" in every conceivable direction. I am not able the change those that follow me (children & grandchildren, etc. - they are already ALL listed) and I cannot change my generation (siblings, cousins, 2nd cousins, etc - they too are also ALL listed). And I am not able to change the numbers of people that preceded me, although I do continue to work at discovering additional men and women that make up my history and my wife's history. But as we all know there are very definite limits to what any of us can find about our ancestors.

So I have chosen to see how many of those that I know are alive and well are able to AND willing to join our GENI world. And to do whatever I am capable of doing to assist them in their quests for more information on their tree in our collective forest. This is the reason i am constantly asking to be made a co-manager of profiles all of the time. Over the last several years of doing this I have added hundreds of profiles of extended relations AND, even more import several thousand photos of those same individuals to our every expanding GENI World Tree.

To each of you that have assisted me in my endeavors, I truly thank you. And to those that I will be asking for something from me in the future, I ask that you understand AND assist me in my efforts. When I do something wrong, I have tried and will continue trying NOT to take it personally BUT to use your criticism as a means of improving both my efforts and results.
