LANGLEY, Wash. -- Richard J. Glennon, 69, of Langley died at home Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2002. He was the husband of Jeannette Glennon.
Born in New Bedford, Mass., the son of the late Joseph R. and Ellen Saunders Glennon, he graduated from Friends Academy, Coyle High School and Notre Dame University.
Mr. Glennon was a major in the Air Force and a member of the Strategic Air Command. After his military service, he was a captain with United Airlines until his retirement.
During his youth, he was a successfully competitive sailor. His love for the sea was a constant throughout his life and he imparted it to his children.
Survivors include his widow; a daughter, Kathleen Koball of Mulkiteo; two sons, Christian of Seattle and John J. of San Jose, Calif.; three granddaughters, Lauren, Grace and Alexandra; three sisters, Rita Barry and her husband, Richard, of Acushnet, Mass., Patricia Southwick of Mattapoisett, Mass., and Mary Jane Baylies and her and her husband, Winthrop, of Weston; and several nieces and nephews.
His funeral and interment were held in Langley.
