About Richard Alexander Spurr
In The War Between the States,he was with John Hunt Morgan on his raid of Indiana, & Ohio In July 1863. Morgan was captured and surrendered his 364 officers and men on 26th July. Lt. Richard Spurr was one of those officers. They were taken to Western State Penitentiary.
Lt. Spurr was transferred to the prison camp at Ft. Delaware, Delaware on an island in the Delaware River. After the war Richard Spurr was elected to the Kentucky House of Representatives.
