In the name of God Amen, I ROBERT BARNETT of the county of Amherst being of sound mind and perfect memory do make this my Last Will and Testament hereby reboking (they spelled revoking this way) and annulling all other Wills heretofore made by me. Imprimes (sp?) my Will is that all Debts which I may justly owe at the time of my Demise shall be paid by the produce of my Estate. Item. I give and devise to my SON JOHN BARNETT and his Heirs forever the tract of land I now live upon devised to me by the Last Will (of) the Rev. Robert Rafe (or Rofe), (Rev. Robert Rose) reserving to my wife MARY BARNETT during her natural life her right of Dower Herein. Item. I give & devise to my wife MARY BARNETT one Seventh Part of all the personal Estate I shall die Pofsifsied (sp?) of to her and her Heirs forever. Item. Whereas I have delivered to my son JAMES BARNETT one negroe named Sam & Sundry other Personal Estate I give & I devise the said negroe Sam and other personal Estate aforesaid to my son JAMES BARNETT and his Heirs forever in full of all I intend to give him. Item. Whereas I have delivered to my daughter JANE BARNETT one negroe named Dick, ten head of (start of page 36) Cattle, one mare, one Feather bed and furniture. I give & devise to the said JANE BARNETT and her heirs the said Negroe Dick and other personal Estate aforesaid forever in full of all I intend to give her. Item. Whereas I have delivered to my Daughter MARY BARNETT sundrie Personal Estate I give and I devise to the said MARY BARNETT and her heirs forever the personal Estate aforesaid and also one seventh part of the Slaves nett cattle Hogs & Sheep I shall die pofscfsed (sp?) of. Item. Whereas I have delivered to my DAUGHTER REBECCA MOORE Sundrie personal Estate I give and I devise to the said REBECCA MOORE and her Heirs forever the said personal Estate and also one seventh part of the Slaves nett cattle Horses and hogs I shall die pofsifside (sp.?) of. Item. Whereas I have delivered to my son, ALEXANDER BARNETT sundrie Personal Estate I give and I devise to the said ALEXANDER BARNETT the said personal Estate and also one seventh part of the slaves nett Cattle hogs & sheep I shall die pofsefsid of to him & his heirs forever. Item. I give & devise to my DAUGHTER RACHEL BARNETT & her heirs forever one seventh part of all the personal Estate I shall die pofscfsed (sp?) of. Item. I give & I devise to my Daughter ELIABETH BARNETT & her heirs forever one Seventh part of all the personal Estate I shall die pofscfsed (sp?) of. Item. I give & I devise to my DAUGHTER ANN BARNETT and her heirs forever one Seventh part of all the personall Estate I shall die pofsefsed (sp?) of. Item. My Will further is that the tract of land whereon my son JOHN BARNETT lately lived contains containing by estimation two hundred acres. ROBERT X BARNETT

(his mark) Shall be sold to the best advantage by my Executor hereafter named and the money arising from the sale thereof shall be equally devided among my wife Mary Barnett, my son Alexander Barnett & my daughters Mary Barnett, Rebecca Moore, Rachel Barnett, Elizabeth Barnett & Anne Barnett. I hereby constitute and approint my son John Barnett sole Executor of this my Last Will and Testament and my desire is that my said Executor will consult with my friends John Rose and Zackareas Talioferro in the Execution thereof in case any Difficulties should arise. In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this XVI Day of September in the year of our Lord MDCCSXXXVI and, declare this to be my last Will of Testament.
