Robert was the son of Robert Bradford. He was a resident of Wellingley in the parish of Tickhill, York, England. He was buried at Tickhill 21 Apr 1578.

He married at Tickhill 3 Feb 1557/8 Dorothy Turvin, who was perhaps a widow. A son-in-law Robert Turvyne was mentioned in her husband's will, so perhaps Dorothy's son by a previous marriage.

"After losing his first wife, Robert Bradford married Dorothy, widow of Robert Turvin the Younger of Tickhill. Robert Bradford and Dorothy do not appear to have had any known children from their union." [1]

He was named in his grandfather's 1542/3 will, and in his father 1552 will. He was named executor of his uncle Peter's 1557/8 will.

Robert made his will 19 Apr 1578 and it was proved 25 June 1578. He directed that he be buried at the parish church in Tickhill, at the discretion of his wife. Legatees: daughter Elizabeth, son in law Robert Turvyne . He also mentioned John Ogden (his brother-in-law). further bequests were made to his his brother Thomas Bradforthe, and to Thomas' children; his brother in law (half brother) William; his sister Alice; and Lancelot, William and Richard Ogden (children of his sister Katheryne, probably deceased), He left to Dorothy his wife his lands during her lifetime and then Robert, son of his brother-in-law (half brother) William.

1. A daughter, d. before her father; m. Robert Turvyne, living 19 Apr 1578, and may have been also a son of Dorothy by a previous husband
2. Elizabeth living 19 Apr 1578.

Robert Bradford, son of Peter, resided in the parish of Tickhill, York, England, when he made his will. His birth has been estimated to be about 1487.[1]. He married twice. His first wife's name is totally unknown. She was the great grandmother of "Mayflower" Gov. William Bradford. His second wife was Elizabeth. Elizabeth and Robert's son, Robert, proved his will. She may be the Elizabeth Bradforth who was buried at Tickhill 21 Oct 1556.[1]
