Came to New England by 1635 and was in Watertown 1638. Died at the age of 40 a year later. Three of his brothers also went to New England; William and John settled in Dedham, MA and Robert and George in Watertown, MA.

Roberts great grandfather was John Buller of Barnham, England and he was born circa 1485. His son was John b circa 1510 who married Margaret ? Their son Henry b circa 1535 also married a Margaret ?

Feb. 24,, 1598:: Robert is born in Barnham,, Suffolk,, England. He is the 6th of 9 children born to William Bullard and Grace Bignett,, 4 boys and 5 girls.

Xxxxxx,, 1623:: Robert Bullard,, A24,, marries Anne Martyn,, A19,, at Barnham. They would go on to have 4 children,, 2 boys and 2 girls. The 2nd child,, William,, named after his grandfather,, would die in infancy. He is buried at St. Martyn s’ Cemetery,, in Barnham.

Mar./Apr.,, 1634/1635:: Robert,, along with brothers William,, John and George,, set sail for Plymouth,, Massachusetts and arrives in the new colony of “New England” in what is now referred to as “The Great Pilgram Migration”. They are here to plant seeds. Robert,, along with brother George,, is assigned lands in Watertown,, while brothers William and Johns’ lands are at Dedham. These towns are just a few miles south and west of Boston. There is a reference to Robert in “The Topographical Dictionary of Emmigrants to New England” which dates his arrival to Watertown as 1634.

Apr. 29,, 1639:: Robert dies of illness at Watertown at the age of 40 yrs. old. He leaves behind his wife Anne and 3 children:: Maudlin,, Anne and the youngest,, Benjamin,, who is just 9 yrs. old. Robert has a Memorial on the FindaGrave site,, No. 127174894.

Jun.,, 1639:: In a survey of the settlement,, Brother George Bullard is described as having a “homestall of eight acres,, bounded west by John Knolls,, east by Ester Pickram,, south with the highway and north by Maudlin and Anne Bullard”.

Nov. 25,, 1639:: Wife Anne re-marries,, to Henry Thorpe. He gave bonds on Nov. 25,, 1639,, that he would not alienate any of the estate then in her possession and consented to a deed she had made to her son Benjamin and his sisters. The bond was made before John Simpson and is witnessed by Robert Bullards’ brother,, William Bullard. This statement would suggest widow Ann has relinquished her property in favour of her children and enters into her new marriage without the benefit of any assets.
