- Sir Robert Chalons, Sheriff of Devon was born circa 1371 at of Challonsleigh in Plympton St. Mary, Awliscombe, & Buckerell, Devonshire, England.1 He married Blanche Waterton, daughter of Sir Hugh Waterton, Constable of Windsor Castle, Chamberlain of the Duchy of Lancaster and Ellen Mowbray, in 1393; They had 2 sons (including Henry) & 2 daughters (Elizabeth, wife of John Ferrers; & Katherine, wife of John St. Aubyn, Esq.).1 Sir Robert Chalons, Sheriff of Devon died on 6 February 1445.1

- Sir Hugh Waterton, (before 1373 – 2 July 1409) was a trusted servant of the House of Lancaster.
- Waterton's date of birth is not known.[1] He was the second son of William Waterton of Waterton, Lincolnshire, and Elizabeth Newmarch,[2] the daughter of Sir Roger Newmarch of Womersley, Yorkshire, by his wife, Maud.[3][4] He had an elder brother, John Waterton, and was a cousin of Robert Waterton, .... etc.
- Waterton married firstly Ellen Mowbray, the daughter of Robert Mowbray, esquire, by whom he had two daughters:[2]
- Elizabeth Waterton (died before 1420), who married John ap Harry, esquire,[2] of Poston, Herefordshire, by whom she had two sons, Hugh ap Harry, who died without issue, and Richard ap Harry, who made proof of his age in 1430/31.[9]
- Blanche Waterton, who married Sir Robert Challons, and was about forty years of age in 1420.[9][15]
