He supposedly survived a smallpox epidemic in Scotland that took the life of everyone except for 5 people. One of the men went back to Ireland and kept the McCloud name, while he went to Wiltshire, Eng.he dropped the "Mc" prefix and used the shorter name Cloud......but was born and died in England???
