Description: Indenture between Robert Vernon of Haslington Co. Chester Esquire and Robert Corbet of Hatherton Esquire whereby it is agreed that Robert Corbet son and heir apparent of the said Robert Corbet shall before the Feast of the Purification next ensuing marry Elizabeth the daughter of the said Robert Vernon and that Robert Corbet the elder shall settle on the said Robert Corbet the younger and Elizabeth the messuages and all the lands and tenements in Hatherton in the tenure of John Burges and Ellen Gaudy widow a water mill the pastures called Asfelde Olton the Haugh and the Conyngry now or late in the tenure of the said Robert and a pasture called the Hade now or late in the tenure of William Trickets and William Cooper a cottage and all the lands in the tenure of Richard Dunynge and a messuage and all the lands in the tenure of Richard Bircher the messuages in the tenures of William Chaunteler William Cooper William Tricket the younger and William Jackson a pasture parcell of the Park in the tenure of Edward Hulso and a pasture called the Heath Croft in the tenure of William Tricket the younger in consideration of which settlement the said Robert Vernon is to pay to the said Robert Corbet the elder the sum of £100. [1570] Robert Corbett, esq. died seized of the manor of Church Copenhale from the queen as of her earldom of Chester, by military service, as the 100th part of a knight's fee : val. per ann. vil. vis. vid. ; also the manors of Hatherton and Walgherton, and lands in Shaventon and Stapeley. Thomas Hulse next of kin and heir, as son of Margaret, sister of Robert, father of Robert, who died.
