1800 • Robert Cunningham may have raised horses as 27 horses on the Personal Property Tax Rolls is more than any of his neighbors had.

1800 • Robert Cunningham: 2 white tithables, 1 slave >16y/o, 5 slaves 10-16y/o, 27 horses. The other slaves listed in his 1801 will must have already been with his children.

However Robert's name is then crossed out on the tax roll. William and James Cunningham are also listed on page 6 of "Virginians in 1800, Counties of West Virginia, Abstract of 1800 Hardy Co, Virginia", research of Steve Bridges

After bequests to his wife & children his Will concludes: Item, The residue of my estate is to be equally divided amongst all my Children and I do hereby constitute and appoint my son Isaac and Abraham Shole to be executors of this my last Will & Testament annuling all other Wills confirming this as my only one. In the name of God amen I Robert Cunningham of Hardy County, State of Virginia being weak of body, but of a sound mind and memory and calling to mind the mortality of the body that it is appointed for all men once to die do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament and first I recommend my soul to God that gave it me. Secondly my body to the grave to be buried in a Christian like manner and first - I order and it is my Will that all my just debts and funeral charges be paid, Secondly I give to my wife, Prudence the use of one third part of my place and two negroes named George and Hannah during her life, also one third part of my moveable estate.

Item I give and bequeath to my son Robert the land he lives on in Kentucky, also five negroes named Harry, Nell, Henery, Sam and Peg which I give to him and his heirs forever.

Item I give and bequeath to my daughter Frankey my Petersburg place and also a Track known by the Minister Place, also two named Peter and Win, also two lots in Petersburg which I give to her and her heirs forever.

Item I give and bequeath to my daughter Miney my Mill Place, also two negroes named Charles and Mage which I give to her and her heirs forever.

Item I give and bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth my upper place on Patterson's Creek, also four negroes named Jude, Dine, Jo and Jacob which I give to her and her heirs forever.

Item I give and bequeath to my daughter Nancy the old Hamibelton Place, also Skihock place in Randolph County in Tygrats Valley, also my Daly Place which I give to her and her heirs forever.

Item I give and bequeath to Nancy's oldest daughter had before marriage the Mill Survey adjoining the Hamibelton Track containing four hundred and forty four acres be the same more or less which I give to her and her heirs forever.

Item I give and bequeath to my son Isaac my Home place, also four negroes named Joe, Cate, Dol and Mary which I give to him and his heirs forever.
