Robert Lee Doty, 52, of Decatur, IL, passed away Sunday, September 2, 2012 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 6, 2012 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL with Rev. Kevin Ray officiating. Visitation from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. Thursday. Robert was born on March 8, 1960 in Elkhart, KS, the son of Lester Eugene and Delma Francis Talbert Doty. He worked for Garver Feeds in Decatur, IL. Robert was an avid fan of the Denver Broncos, St. Louis Cardinals and NASCAR. He married Brenda Tripp on September 4, 1987.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda; son, Brandon Doty of Decatur; daughters, Kathryn Doty and Brittany Doty both of Decatur; brother, Lester Doty (Diane) of Mt. Zion; sister, Francis “Kay” Wheelock (Dan) of Fayetteville, NC; four grandchildren; mother-in-law, Violet Tripp of Shelbyville; brothers-in-law, Van Tripp of Arcola, Kevin Tripp (Jeanne) of Shelbyville and Brian Tripp (Trena) of Westervelt; sisters-in-law, Lynnette Gulley of Shelbyville and Susie Schoon of Mt. Zion; close friends, Kristy “Cricket” Miller and Keith Anderson both of Decatur; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Paul Tripp; and brother-in-law, Rick Schoon.
