BIOGRAPHY: Robert Sr. came to Richmond Military Settlement in 1816. He was discharged from the 37th Light of Foot on May 18, 1819. After his son Robert Jr. came to Horton Township in 1837, he followed in 1838. He settled on the sixth line in the fifth concession on lot 13. It is believed that Robert Sr. was given the choice of staying in uniform or taking land in Horton Township and he chose the land. The rest of the family came to Horton the following year.
