Robert married Mary Hunt before 1669, and died 1681 . Mary Hunt was the daughter of William Hunt and Judith his wife.She, Judith,married secondly 1668 Richard Parker.Robert died intestate before 2 May 1681, on which date Mary Edwards, his relict, presents to the Court, the Inventory of his estate and requests administration. (WB2, 2170The appraisement of his estate (wb2, PG 245) takes place 9 Jul 1685One Hundred Acres of land is listed, the land he bought of Palmer.A final settlement of the estate between the three daughters takes place in 1694, when he is recorded as Dr. Robert Edwards.This Robert left no sons, his three daughters were co-heiresses.The daughters were Margaret, Judith (named after her grandmother Judith Hunt), and Mary.Mary married James Bragg, 1694, and he having come into one third of the land by this marriage, later buys the other two thirds from the two sisters, as show by deeds.(db 1, PG 131) The three sisters.These three sisters are referred to several times as "Ye daughters and co-heiresses of Robert Edwards dec'd"Mary Hunt, relict of Robert Edwards, married secondly Owen Griffin (IofW Co. Chapman's Isle of Wight County Marriages records the marriage of Robert Edwards and Mary Huntt, daughter of William Huntt, in 1672. Daniel Boucher, Burgess for Isle of Wight in 1653, left a legacy in his will dated 4 Dec. 1667 to Mary Hunt. Will probated May 1668. Therefore Mary did not marry Robert Edwards until after Dec 1667. Chapman further records the marriage of William Boddie and Mrs. Mary (nee Huntt) Griffin, relict of Owen Griffin, in 1712.
