Children

  1. Robert Gamlin, b. say 1610. … Robert Gamlin Jr. was admitted to Roxbury church as member #67: "Robert Gamlin junior he arrived at N.E. the 20th of the 3rd month; he brought only one child, which was the son of his wife by a former husband, his name is John Mayo, he was but a child" [RChR 77].
  2. Mary Gamlin, b. say 1615; admitted to Roxbury church as member #65: "Mary Gamlin a maid servant, daughter of Rob. Gamlin the elder; she came with her father in the year 1632; she was a very gracious maiden; she died in Mr. Pinchon's family of the small pox in the year 1633" [RChR 77].

"The church entry for Mary Gamlin states clearly that she came with her father in 1632, and his name appears on the passenger list of the William & Francis in that year. Since this ship arrived at Boston on 5 June 1632, Robert Gamlin Jr. cannot have come on this ship with his father and sister, for Eliot states that he arrived on 20 May, year not given. He more likely came in the following year, perhaps on the William & Jane or the Mary & Jane, both of which arrived in May of 1633."
