Robert L. Harp

Having completed his work on earth, ROBERT L. HARP went home to be with his Lord March 2, 2014 at the age of 91.

Bob was born April 8, 1922 in Franklin County, Ohio to Deo Sylvester Harp and Anna Mabel (Stubbs) Harp.

Bob graduated from Dublin High School in 1940. He lived his entire life in the central Ohio area, moving to "the farm" in Delaware County in 1957 where he raised his family and passed on his love for hard work and farm life. He worked for the Jaeger Machine Company for nearly 25 years as a machinist and methods engineer. In 1968 he started his own machining business, Product Tooling, Inc. of Sunbury, Ohio, where he worked until he was 80 before passing the business on to his son and grandson. Ever the craftsman, Bob continued to work at making art glass lamp shades and many other special "projects".

Bob is survived by his wife of 71 years, Miriam R. Harp (Davis), son Robert Thomas Harp (Mary) of Chillicothe, son Richard Davis Harp (Terri) of Cincinnati, and son Rodney J Harp (Beth) of Sunbury. He is also survived by one sister, Joann Hanny (Bob) of Williamsburg, Virginia, 6 grandchildren, J.T. Harp (Kendi), Mary Beth Albright (Joel), Heather Harp, Lowell Harp (Kelly), Rodney Kurtis Harp (Kaitlin), Sarah Harp, and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, James Harp, and sister, Maxine Davis.

Bob had previously been a member of the Bethel and Kilbourne United Methodist Church, and more recently the Highpoint Nazarene and Marengo Christian Church. Friends, neighbors and family are invited to visit Thursday, March 6th from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the Marengo Christian Church, 3904 State Route 229, Marengo, Ohio. A celebration of Bob's life will follow at 7:00 pm with Preacher Jeff Copley officiating. A private interment will be held later for the family.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Bob's memory may be made to the Marengo Christian Church.
