(NOTE: The first wife of Robert Jenison has been said to be the daughter of Thomas Kilbourne and Frances Moody Kilbourne, baptized at Wood Ditton, Cambridgeshire on May 12,1614. References to this are found in a Great Migration series article on Thomas Kilborn and in Bond's Watertown treatment of Robert Jenison. However, the most recent theory is that their daughter Elizabeth married Hugh Gunnison. (NEHGR 163:16-18) The arguments presented in this article are weak, but plausible. Robert Jennison married by 1637, Elizabeth Kilbourne. Elizabeth was baptized on May 12, 1614 at Wood, Ditton, Cambridgeshire, daughter of Thomas and Frances (Moody) Kilbourne. [6]

His first wife Elizabeth died at age 30 and was buried at Watertown, MA on 10: 8m: 1638 (Oct. 10, 1638). [4]

In her will dated Nov. 13, 1650, widow Frances Kilbourne of Wethersfield, made a bequest to her grandchild, Elizabeth Geneson. [6]

He married second, Grace ___, who died at Watertown on Nov. 6, 1686.[4]

Robert Jennison came to Watertown about 1637. He was the brother of William Jennison, who had come to Watertown after being first of Bermuda, then of Charlestown in 1630. [1]

  • 1645: Robert Jenison, freeman, Massachusetts Bay Colony. (p. 3978) [2]
  • 1646: April 30: Robert Jennison of Watertown put up his house and lands in Watertown as surety for the debt of his brother Captain William Jennison, who owed L14 13s, if William did not send goods from England or elsewhere to meet the obligation. [1]
  • 1654: May 5: Robert Jennison was a jury member is the trial of Caleb Johnson who accidentally shot John Woodis. ( V.1: p. 47) [3]
