About Robert John Hackett
Robert John Hackett emigrated from Ireland to Australia in about 1978 - 1980, we are unsure of exact dates or name of ship. Robert John met and married Lucy Ellis Martin in 1889, and moved to the Dandenong Ranges east of Melbourne, Victoria. His family were pioneers of the Dandenongs. Robert died in 1923 and is buried in Ferntree Gully Cemetry in the same grave his daugher, Catherine, (Kate), who died aged approx 10 yrs. old. His son, Charles Henry Hackett was a carpenter who built many homes in the Dandenong Ranges, some of which are still standing today.
