Robert MacAlister

Extract states: "Robert MacAlister was born in Rothesay, Bute, Scotland on 6 November 1809 (baptised 19 November 1809). His parents were John and Mary MacAlister (nee McKirdy). On 1 February 1844 Robert married Jane Sutherland in Latheron, Caithness, Scotland. The arrived in New Zealand on board the Edward Thornhill in October 1862. Robert died in Tauranga on 28 March 1871, aged 61 (reg. 1871/4030). He was buried in Mission Cemetery (Otamataha Pā). Jane died in New Zealand in 1895, aged 76 (reg. 1895/6776).
